This is the view from the 7 mile marker on interstate 45 the morning after Hurricane Ike . The entire right lanes of the interstate most all of the way into Galveston were covered with debris .

I would have loved to photograph them bobbing around in the water.

we are looking for this guy in the red shirt . Seems he left his hound dog with some beer drinking buddies .

When asked where Galveston was hardest hit I reply the poor were devastated. They had evacuated on buses for Hurricane Rita. As good as the intentions of the city were it was a nightmare leaving their pets behind and countless hours on a bus in gridlock traffic. Some of the old and poor stayed this time just to have control in their life. After the hurricane flooded their home they went to a temporary shelter at Ball High school. Another nightmare in its self. the shelter closed in a few days  and they were to be bused to San Antonio . The shot was taken as they sat on the steps of Ball High waiting for the evacuation bus to San Antonio .

I looked out a friends window and saw my world famous tracker surrounded by 6 Homeland Security Vehicles.

What were they doing? it seems a u.s. judge lives on the block.  I was about to witness the glue that holds the safety and security of our nation in action.

Ok, every day 4-6 cars of homealnd security deliver 2 five gallon cans of gas so the judge  can run his generator .

Welcome to my Landmark Photography of Galveston. Galveston is a wonderful place to live and hopefully my photography will capture and preserve the beauty of this island .

Galveston Island has always been a shelter from the storm with a live and let live acceptance of all that is unique. Diversity arrives in Galveston from all ports of the world. If you watch my slide show, you will experience the pride, independence, history, beauty and magic Galveston has, for centuries now, offered locals and visitors.

I have always taken my camera seriously. I refer to it now as my magic wand. At first glance my photographs might give you the impression I am a software expert; however, those who know software and photography realize my work results from angles, time exposures, camera movements and alternative lighting - not editing. As an example, all photos in my walking man series are completely unaltered. The railroad museum shot of the photographer is not a layered photo skillfully touched with software.

At times I want my photos to have whimsical touch, so I will construct whatever seems fitting for the moment. I built the witch from wood, clay, and fiberglass. I also built the 1900 storm statue snowman on the night of the Christmas snow.

I have worked over eight years photographing Galveston landmarks. My goal is to produce artistic photographs. Distinct, creative shots aptly capturing Galveston’s uniqueness. My sincere thank you to those who have supported my efforts and I ask you to stay in touch as my work continues to develop. You will not be disappointed.

I am getting requests to photograph weddings.  I would be interested in very small weddings or back up photography of anything larger. I am always interested in any event which has character and  unique.

Did anyone notice this photo on the cover of the Gaveston Parrot or more precisely Galveston Pirate .

It’s time for a new photo series. A lot of thought was put into a possible image for Galveston . Flamingo’s , pelicans, penguins were considered. Beach Balls Won! Our house is now full of huge beach balls. It is like living in a Disney womb! Today we took the world famous Tracker and loaded her with THE Balls and off to the seawall we went. Trust me it was a hoot! Over the next few months we will post the beach ball adventures on the net. Stay tuned!

It was the 100 year snow in Galveston. I had been trying to shoot the 1900 storm statue on seawall for years. It was a hard shot. The snow was amazing everyone and Cree and I decided it was deep enough to build our own snowman. After discussing a few locations it occurred to me that the snowman represented life and death . Off we went to build the most famous snowman ever built in Galveston.

Our 2006 witch project was another art photography success. It was the cover photo for our Galveston’s Twisted Parrot. We built the witch in the back yard and put her on a trailer . I decided to try to use gunpowder to light her for the shoots instead of a flash. You cannot imagine how much attention we got pulling the witch around town for a month .

Most of my photography is now night  and time exposure shots. The range of opportunity is unlimited at night or under low light.

Ghost Travelers is my personal favorite shot. It is not altered . The Ghost Travelers display at the Railroad museum is a "must see" Galveston attraction.

This is a popular night photo .A sparkler and a 8 second exposure.
